At Moran Gallery Sylvania from 7 December 2017 to 25 February 2018 inc.
From the Sutherland Shire to the Shoalhaven, this new exhibition by Tony Lopes is a photographic journey through one of the most captivating parts of the east coast of Australia. A road trip to the south of Sydney is a landscape photographer’s dream; sculptural headlands, awe-inspiring beaches and waterways, and clear light.
“Tony Lopes’ photographs imagine a world isolated from any individual. The sky, water and land blend together, uninterrupted by human presence, devices or transporters. These photographs resemble distant yet familiar places, an Australia beyond our local reach. However, they are all photographed near his home in the Sutherland Shire.” Kon Gouriotis, Artist Profile magazine.
Tony Lopes has been a freelance photographer for over 20 years. Tony has experience in all aspects of traditional photography, gaining a diploma in Fine Arts while majoring in Photography at St. George College, Sydney. Tony worked for esteemed Sydney portrait studios Divinity and Photografos before starting his own company Euphoria Photography. “I hope you find the works inspiring and that they evoke wonderful memories that allow you to lose yourself in this narrative” said Tony Lopes.
