The Moran Arts Foundation is delighted to be calling for entries in the 2021 Doug Moran National Portrait Prize, Australia’s richest art prize. The prize invites entries of original works from Australian artists, capturing Australians from all walks of life, whether a public figure or not.
Leading Australian artists are among the Moran Prize winners who to date have included Peter Wegner, Ben Quilty, Prudence Flint, Robert Hannaford and Fiona Lowry.
The 2021 Doug Moran National Portrait Prize will be judged by Daniel Thomas AM, former Director, Art Gallery of South Australia, Tim Storrier AM, award winning Australian artist and Peter Moran, Moran Arts Foundation.
Entries for the 2021 Doug Moran National Portrait Prize close on Wednesday 29 September 2021 and the semi-finalists will be revealed on 14 October. The finalists will be announced on Monday 1 November and the winner declared on Friday 30 November.

The Moran Arts Foundation is a philanthropic, not-for-profit organisation whose objective is to support the arts in Australia. Best known for the Doug Moran National Portrait Prize and the development of portraiture skills among Australian artists, the Foundation also fosters excellence in photography. The Moran Arts Foundation was established in 1988 by Doug and Greta Moran AO and their family in celebration of Australia’s bicentennial.
