The Moran Arts Foundation is delighted to announce that entries for the 2019 Moran Contemporary Photographic Prize (MCPP) are now open. With a total prize fund of $100,000 including $50,000 for the winning photograph, the MCPP is one of  Australia’s richest photography prizes and photographers from across Australia are being encouraged to enter the prestigious competition.

The Moran Arts Foundation invites photographers to portray life in Australia; places, people and lifestyle that make our lovable country quintessentially Australian. Entries should reflect the diversity, multiculturalism or unique nature of Australian life. It may be a landscape, portrait or action shot but above all else tell a story of how you experience living in Australia. (NB – entries for the MCPP do not need to be portraits). Entries close on Wednesday 6 March and the MCPP winner will
be revealed on Tuesday 7 May.

The Moran Contemporary Photographic Prize (MCPP) was established in 2007 by the Moran Arts Foundation and it awards and promotes Australian contemporary photography and excellence in all forms of still, photo based artwork -­ including analogue and digital photography or staged and directorial photo-­media work. As part of their commitment to the arts, The Moran Arts Foundation host free photography workshops in schools throughout the country each year. The MCPP, also includes categories for school students and entries for the Student Competition are also now open.

Entries for the 2019 Moran Contemporary Photographic Prize close at midnight on Wednesday 6 March and the winner will be announced on Tuesday 7 May at Juniper Hall in Paddington. The Moran Contemporary Photographic Exhibition opens on 4 May and runs until 2 June 2019 as part of the Head On Photo Festival Sydney.

ABOUT THE MORAN ARTS FOUNDATION
The Moran Arts Foundation is a philanthropic, not-­for-­profit organisation whose objective is to support the arts in Australia through the Doug Moran National Portrait Prize, the Moran Contemporary Photographic Prize, gallery exhibitions and free Moran School Photographic Workshops.
